Sladmore Galleries present full splendour of Nic Fiddian-Green sculpture. Dominating Feature ‘Christ Rests In Peace’, 8 foot high, with savage crown of thorns, cast in lead, finished in gold leaf, expresses a spiritual element at the heart of Nic Fiddian-Green’s work. First seen in Southwark cathedral during Lent and Holy week, Christ Head will make a compelling impact in the window of the Sladmore gallery in Jermyn Street.

Neo-classical horses' heads, inspired by the Greek ideal, cast in bronze or lead by the ancient ‘lost wax’ method, with his own meticulous methods of colouration, have brought Nic Fiddian-Green recognition around the world. His 35 foot 'Still Water' in Marble Arch, is admired by thousands of visitors. During the summer his monumental sculptures inspire the crowds at Glorious Goodwood, Royal Ascot and Glyndebourne. A long list of distinguished Fiddian-Green collectors include movie stars, best selling writers, landowning grandees and business giants.

At Sladmore Contemporary there will be marble carvings, drawings, and a small collection of new bronzes, also smaller studies for the Christ head. His working environment is sometimes described as more like a blacksmith’s forge or workshop than a conventional artist’s studio.

Nic Fiddian-Green spent Sunday cleaning his 35ft high bronze horse head sculpture Still Water in Marble Arch

An artist who crafted a sculpture of a horse's head in central London was so distressed at the local pigeons making a mess of his landmark he has climbed the 35ft high structure to clean it himself.

Nic Fiddian-Green is known the world over for his incredible signature sculptures of horses inspired by his own chestnut hunter George.

His bronze horse creation Still Water is now a permanent feature in Marble Arch but it appears the pigeons loved it as much as London sightseers - leaving the prominent statue in need of a spring clean.

But after spending hundreds of hours making the Still Water sculpture, Mr Fiddian-Green was determined to take on the tricky job himself early Sunday morning.

The artist was lifted up and suspended over the bronze horse in a cherry picker before proceeding to wash it down with a sponge.

He said: 'It is a great honour that Westminster city council have made this a permanent work of art for the city.

'I am humbled that so many people have written to me and that I am still able to uplift and inspire people as they pass by, rushing to work.'

Mr Fiddian-Green has created numerous works of horses - including the Horse at Water sculpture previously homed in Marble Arch but now moved to Australia.

Horse at Water, Marble Arch, London Thanks to the generosity of the Owners and the foresight and support of Westminster Council the "Marwari" 30 foot Bronze which has become such a well-known feature of central London since its installation in June 2009, will remain at Marble Arch until the Autumn of 2010.
